The mission of Florida’s 4th Judicial Circuit’s Guardian ad Litem Program is to recruit, train, support and supervise volunteers, also known as court appointed special advocates, to speak for the best interests of children who have been abused, neglected or abandoned. Volunteers become familiar with the child and the child’s case so they can make recommendations to the court that help ensure a safe, caring, stable and permanent home environment.
The Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Florida’s First Coast, Inc. is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to help abused, neglected or abandoned children through support of the Guardian ad Litem Program in Duval, Clay and Nassau Counties. All donations made to the Foundation are tax deductible. Funds are used to benefit children directly, in recruiting and training volunteers so more child abuse victims can be represented by Guardians ad Litem in court.
